Brian Moul has specialized in sales tax planning and compliance since 1990. He started working in this specialty while at the City of Vancouver when the Goods and Services Tax ("GST") was first introduced.
Brian was instrumental in setting up the City's system to collect and recover the GST and Social Service Tax ("PST"), and he used numerous planning strategies to maximize tax recoveries through effective use of elections and structuring.
 Brian joined Price Waterhouse Coopers ("PwC") Indirect Tax group in Vancouver in 1998. During 10-years at PwC Brian advised domestic and international clients on all aspects of Canadian sales tax planning, audit defence, and recovery strategies. In 2005 Brian was promoted to Associate Partner and leader of the Vancouver Indirect Tax group. Looking for a change, and opportunity to work in industry, Brian left PwC in February 2009 and joined BC Hydro as the Manager Commodity Tax where he is currently leading the HST transition process.

Brian has presented on 2 occasions at the Commodity Tax Symposium that is held each fall in Ottawa, he has also lead numerous training sessions and worked on various sales tax advisory committees.
